A journalism professor at the University of Kansas has started a website aimed at providing political news and information to college students.  The site, Political Fiber, will cover the 2012 presidential election as well as Kansas state races.  Pam Fine, who holds the Knight Chair in News, Leadership and Community at KU, created the site and will advise student journalists.

Editor Brianne Pfannenstiel, a recent journalism graduate, sums up the site’s mission: “Young people care very deeply about important issues but are completely disillusioned with politicians and political bickering. Our site tries to go beyond the day-to-day politics and address students in a way that is meaningful to them.” Read more about the site here.
